Don't want to toot my own horn too much here, but I'm making space available for Archaeology aficionados to host articles and photos of their own adventures and discoveries on The Fedora Chronicles... to focus on the realities of discovering and uncovering the past, not just the Hollywood glamour and story telling.

Hello, all! Here's a great link to all things archaeological: archaeology.about.com/Plus a couple links to some of the professional organizations: American Institute of Archaeology www.archaeology.org/Society for Historical Archaeology www.sha.orgSociety for American Archaeology www.saa.orgSociety for California Archaeology. www.scahome.org/Pretty much every state or group of states has their own archaeological association. You can find most through the About.com site above. The American Anthropological Association has an Archeology Division, though it's not that well developed. Still, since in the Western Hemisphere archaeology is anthropology, it's still a good place for a lot of information on what's going on in anthropology. www.aaanet.org/A few sites geared more towards avocational archaeology: National Park Service Archeology Program www.cr.nps.gov/archeology/index.htmThe Archaeological Conservancy. One of my personal favorites for the incredible work they do in preserving sites that would otherwise be destroyed though development or looting. An organization truly deserving of our support. www.americanarchaeology.com/aawelcome.htmlThese people get way too much of my money every year! A great source for reprints of archaeological references that are long out of print. Coyote Press www.coyotepress.com/cgi-bin/cyp455/index.html
