I'm currently doing research about a dig done in the '70's at an old shipyard from the American Revolution. I never even knew this place was there until I passed one of those rusted signs at the side of the road and decided to read it. Since it isn't an active dig...I did a little traipsing around to see what was there. You can still see the old ship docks and masts from scuttled ships. More information as I know it. I'm actually thinking of writing a historical fiction novel based on this location.
Oh, this is on the banks of the Chickahominy River (a tributary of the James River) near Williamsburg, Virginia.
